The article explains how to upload GDPR-compliant data into Stampede using CSV files, ensuring no duplicates are created. Users can tag datasets during upload, facilitating marketing or reporting segmentation. Importantly, uploading via CSV updates contact opt-in status, re-opting in those who had opted out. The process involves selecting the Marketing section, uploading the CSV, and ensuring data fields match correctly. Users can choose Stampede attributes like data source, venue, and tags. Uploaded data can be viewed under Reports, where users can browse and filter their database by data source.
With database uploading, you can easily add all your GDPR-compliant data from other sources to Stampede. Rest assured, Stampede won’t create any duplicates, so if you're updating customer information, you won't run into any issues! When uploading CSVs, you have the option to tag these data sets during the upload process. This can help you quickly create a marketing or reporting segment. For instance, if you recently held a contest and have data for all the winners, you could tag the data as "Contest Winners 2023" for easy access later on!
IMPORTANT: Please note that if you upload a contact to Stampede via the CSV uploader, this will update their opt-in status. Anyone who has opted out will be opted back in. To upload a CSV:
- Select Marketing from the left-hand menu.
This will take you to the marketing page. Under the Data section, select Upload.
Drag and drop or upload the file you wish to import (as shown below). Note: This must be in .csv format.
Below the uploader, you'll find a log of all uploaded files and related details.
After uploading, check the customer attributes section to ensure all fields correspond to the correct columns in your spreadsheet. These are generated based on the data type.
The upload manager will detect the headers and assign the presumed correct values based on one of the records, so please double-check to ensure each record is assigned the right data type. Note: If you prefer not to include a certain data type or don’t have one available, you can select ignore.
- Next, select the Stampede attributes for your data:
- Data Source (Choose the appropriate source of data, for example, if it's from a bookings list, select "Booking", or for transactions, choose "Online order". For a general database import, select "Import")
- Venue (The venue to which this data will be added)
- Tags (Automatically apply marketing segment tags to this data)
- Once you're done, you'll see how many customers will be uploaded at the bottom left. Just hit Upload, and your data will be uploaded!
Viewing your database:
Select Reports from the left-hand menu.
- Under the Customers section, select Interactions
- In this section, you'll be able to browse through your entire database, including the records you upload via CSV, which will appear first, as the most recent entries are displayed at the top.
- In this view, you can also filter by data source to refine your database search.
