In this article, you'll learn how to use the Quick Actions in Floor View, including how to manually complete bookings, view Covers Flow, and prepare for service with Daily Notes and Pre-Shift summaries.
Quick Actions give you helpful shortcuts for shift prep, end-of-day clean-up, and performance insight. Whether you need to complete bookings, review guest flow, or brief your team, everything is in one place.
1. Go to Bookings
Head to Venues from the left-hand navigation bar, then select Bookings to open the dashboard.
(If you have only one venue, selecting Venues will take you straight to your Bookings.)
2. Open Floor View
Scroll to the bottom of the bookings page and click Floor Plan.
3. Quick Action Icons Overview
Before we dive in, here’s a look at the key icons you’ll use in Floor View for managing bookings, guest flow, and shift prep. These are located at the bottom left hand side of the floorplan.
Use the Complete All Quick Action
You’ll see a shield icon. Click this to complete all bookings that are now in the past and move them to the Completed state.
Note: Don’t worry if you forget Stampede automatically completes all bookings the following day, so your system stays clean and up to date.
Open Covers Flow
Next to the shield icon, click the eye icon to open Covers Flow.
This view provides a full-day breakdown in 15-minute intervals, showing:
- Time slots
- Bookings per slot
- Covers per slot
- Running averages
You’ll also see a summary at the bottom showing:
- Total bookings
- Total covers
- Seated guests
- Completed covers
Use Covers Flow to spot your busiest service times or review post-shift performance.
Check Daily Notes
The Daily Notes section allows managers to leave internal notes for the team.
These are not visible to customers and are ideal for quick operational reminders.
Example: “Toilets are working again – use left entrance only.”
Update this section at the start of each day to keep staff informed and aligned.
Review Pre-Shift Summary
The Pre-Shift section gives a quick snapshot of what the team should expect.
You'll see:
- Shift lead name (e.g. “Hello, Bianca Schwartz”)
- Date and shift overview (e.g. “Sat, 12 April – 20 covers and 8 bookings for this shift”)
- Key metrics like average covers per hour
You can also review key guest insights grouped under:
- Repeat Guests
- Large Parties
- Special Occasions
- Dietary Restrictions
This allows your team to prepare for service with better context around guest needs.
Use the Time Icon (Clock Symbol)
In the top-right corner of the screen, you’ll find the Time icon.
Clicking this will show all the time slots a table is allocated to throughout the day. It’s perfect for identifying booking gaps, turnaround times, and planning table availability in real-time.
7. Understand Table Indicators in Floor View
As you view tables during service, you may notice additional visual cues. Here's what they mean:
- Red Flashing Table – The booking time for this table is coming to an end. A helpful prompt for turnover readiness.
- Link Icon – This table is part of a table combination, joined with others to accommodate larger parties.
- Progress Bar – Shows how far along the booking is in real time. You’ll see this bar fill up as time passes, helping you track guest flow during their visit.
These visual indicators are designed to give you quick insights without needing to open each booking.
Pro Tip:
Use Daily Notes and Pre-Shift to run smoother services, then review Covers Flow and the Time icon post-service to evaluate the day and plan ahead. Keeping your team informed and aligned makes all the difference in delivering great guest experiences.
