In this article, we’ll walk you through how to create a single event using Stampede’s Bookings system. This is perfect for one-off events like ticketed evenings, special tastings, or seasonal pop-ups. Your event booking will function like any other booking type and can even act as the ticket confirmation for guests. We'll also show you how to use a Special Date and generate a direct booking link to share on social media, email, or paid campaigns.
Step 1: Create a Booking Type for the Event
To begin, you’ll need to create a new Booking Type. This will define how your event appears online and what customers will see when booking.
Key Booking Type Settings to Configure:
- Is booking type active? ✅
- Is this booking type available online? ✅
- Name: e.g. "Summer Gin Tasting"
- Emoji & Colour: Add flair with a fun emoji 🍸 and set a distinct colour
- Description: A short explanation that appears below the title
- Min/Max party size: Set your allowed booking range
- Booking duration & buffer: Set a default booking length (e.g. 2 hours) and choose a buffer if needed
- Allow amendments? Decide if guests can modify their bookings online and set a time buffer
- Same-day bookings: Enable or disable depending on your event rules
- Effect covers: Tick this if you want to track covers for capacity management
- Select tables & combinations: Choose where bookings will go
- Cancellation or Deposit Charges: Optional—perfect for paid events
- Ask for extra info: Add fields like "Room Number" or "Number of Dogs" if applicable
Once complete, ensure your Booking Type is set as active, but service hours are left closed—we’ll override them later.
Step 2: Use “Special Days” to Set the Event Date
Now that your booking type is ready, it’s time to make it live for a specific date.
- Navigate to the Special Days section.
- Click Add Special Date and configure the following:
- ✅ Tick Special Date is active
- ✅ Tick Available for online booking
- Name & Emoji: Something like "🎅 Christmas Cocktail Night"
- Min/Max party size, duration, tables, combinations: Pull these from your booking type
- Date range: Select the exact day (e.g. 18 July 2025)
- Booking type to inherit from: Select the Booking Type you just created (e.g. “Drinks”)
- Override open hours: Adjust service hours so that bookings are actually possible on the date
📌 Top Tip: Make sure your biggest booking duration fits within the open-close window.
Step 3: Build Your Booking Link
Once your special event is ready, generate a direct, trackable link to promote it.
- Go to Link Builder
- Choose your:
- Booking Type (e.g. “Drinks”)
- Date
- Party size
- UTM tags if using for marketing attribution
- Copy the final URL. For example:
https://booking.stampede.ai/f4f70aa9-3e6a-47df-b0d1-cf5b3cf4f4e4/3VEFMSNHTMAX?booking_type_id=bd1d1538-6cf1-41ed-95a1-bb8377f6d252
This link can now be used on your social media, website, or email campaigns—acting as a direct gateway for customers to book their spot.
That’s it! You’ve now created and published a single event using Bookings.
