In this article, you'll learn what User Actions are and how to customise them in Stampede Bookings.
User Actions control what your guests can do when making or managing a booking online from editing their reservation and adding allergy notes, to inviting friends or letting you know they’re bringing a dog. These settings give your venue more flexibility while improving the customer booking experience.
1. Go to Bookings
Head to Venues from the left-hand navigation bar, then select Bookings to open the dashboard.
(If you have only one venue, selecting Venues will take you straight to your Bookings.)
2. Open Configuration
Scroll to the bottom of the bookings page and click on Configuration.
From here, you’ll see Reminders listed as the second option in the configuration menu.
3. Customise User Actions
From here, you can enable or disable key features that control what your customers can do during the booking process.
Allow Online Amendments
Let customers edit their own booking online before the booking begins. You can also set:
- Amendment Time Buffer – How long before the booking a guest can still make changes (e.g. 2880 minutes = 2 days)
- Amendment Not Possible Message – A custom message shown if the guest tries to amend too close to their booking time
Example: “Unfortunately, this booking cannot be changed online. Please contact us directly.”
Selectable End Times
This setting allows guests to select how long they'd like their booking to last (up to the maximum duration defined in your configuration). This is especially useful for venues offering flexible booking durations.
Allergens
Enable a field for guests to declare any allergies or intolerances ahead of their visit. This helps you prep in advance and ensures a safer experience for your guests.
Booking Invites
Allow guests to invite others to their booking. This:
- Sends the invited guests all booking details
- Adds them to your marketing database (if opt-in is selected)
This is a great way to increase engagement and grow your contact list organically.
Dogs Allowed
Control whether your venue allows dogs and if so, set a limit per booking. This keeps expectations clear for guests while helping your team prepare appropriately.
Pro Tip:
User Actions not only enhance the booking experience—they’re also a powerful way to collect information that helps you deliver a more personalised and smooth service. Be sure to review these settings during busy periods or seasonal updates.
