In this article, you'll learn how to set booking limits in Stampede Bookings.
From managing minimum and maximum party sizes to limiting bookings during specific times of the day, cover limits help you balance guest flow, kitchen capacity, and staff availability especially between busy weekends and quieter weekdays.
1. Go to Bookings
Head to Venues from the left-hand navigation bar, then select Bookings to open the dashboard.
(If you have only one venue, selecting Venues will take you straight to your Bookings.)
2. Open Configuration
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Configuration.
3. Open the Covers Section
Once you’ve selected Configuration, the full configuration menu will appear. The first section shown will be Covers.
4. Covers
You can now set the following:
- Minimum Party Size - The minimum size of a booking Default: 1
- Maximum Party Size - The maximum size of a booking Default: 20
- Large Booking Size Default: 50
Bookings of this size and over will be classed as large bookings. These will be highlighted in overviews to help you spot and plan for them. - Specific Party Size Durations
Choose a specific booking duration based on the size of the party. This helps control turnover and pacing for example, assigning longer durations to larger groups. Daily Cover Limits
Set your maximum daily covers for set days and times to control the pressure on the kitchen.
For example, on weekdays with fewer staff, you may want fewer bookings, while weekends can accommodate higher numbers. You will see each day of the week listed:
- Monday
- Tuesday
- Wednesday
- Thursday
- Friday
- Saturday
- Sunday
Click into any day to configure specific time ranges and cover caps.
Pro Tip:
Use lower cover limits during quieter service times to ease pressure on the kitchen and FOH team. For weekends or busy nights, increase your limits to maximise capacity and revenue while keeping service smooth.
