This article explains how to set up and manage special dates in a bookings system. Users can access the Bookings dashboard, select a venue, open configuration, and create, edit, copy, or delete special dates, helping prioritize events like staff nights or holidays and adjust operating hours as needed.
1. Go to Bookings
To set up special dates, you can go to Bookings to open the dashboard.
(If you have only one venue, selecting Venues will take you straight to your Bookings.)
1.5. Select Venue
If you have multiple venues, you will need to choose the one you want to configure. Select venues to open the list.
Listed venues will pop up; simply select the one you want to configure.
2. Open Configuration
Configuration is where all venue settings for bookings can be created and enabled.
Then select Special dates in Config
3. Manage Existing or Create New Special Dates
You will now see a list of your existing Special Dates (if you’ve added any before). From here, you can:
- Create a new special date: by clicking the 'Create Special Date'
- Edit: Click this to amend the Special Date settings.
- Delete: Click this to remove the special date.
- Copy: Click this to duplicate a special date.
This gives you full control to adjust or remove special settings as needed.
4. Save Your Changes
Once your booking type is set up or updated, click Update Special Date. It will now be live in your system.
Pro Tip: Special dates are a great way to manage your day planner. It will limit the operating hours or block other booking types for your special date to take priority. Uses include:
- Staff nights
- Christmas Meals
- New Year's hours
