In this article, you'll learn how to set booking intervals and durations in Stampede Bookings.
The Intervals section helps you control how booking times are spaced out, how long each reservation lasts by default, and how far in advance bookings can be made. These settings are essential for managing service flow, table turnover, and long-term availability.
1. Go to Bookings
Head to Venues from the left-hand navigation bar, then select Bookings to open the dashboard.
(If you have only one venue, selecting Venues will take you straight to your Bookings.)
2. Open Configuration
Scroll to the bottom of the bookings page and click on Configuration. From the menu, select Intervals.
3. Configure Booking Intervals and Limits
In the Intervals section, you can set the following:
- Default Booking Duration
This is the standard length of time each booking will last unless a different duration is set by party size or booking type.
Example: 120 minutes - Booking Intervals
This controls how frequently new time slots appear to users on the booking form.
Options typically include 15 or 30 minutes
Example: With a 15-minute interval, users might see 18:00, 18:15, 18:30, etc. - Buffer
Add a buffer between bookings to prevent them being back-to-back. This is helpful for resetting tables or giving staff a break between parties.
Example: A 15-minute buffer between each booking - Last Booking
Set the amount of time before closing when you want to take your final booking.
Example: If your venue closes at 10pm and this is set to 120 minutes, the latest bookable slot will be 8pm - Months in Advance
Set how far into the future customers can make online bookings.
Example: 3 months - Max Covers per Time Slot
The total number of covers (guests) allowed per time slot. This helps avoid overcrowding during peak hours.
Example: 100 guests per 30-minute slot - Max Bookings per Time Slot
The maximum number of bookings (regardless of party size) allowed in the same time interval.
Example: 100 bookings per slot
Click Save once you’ve configured your preferred settings.
Pro Tip:
Setting shorter intervals (e.g. 15 mins) offers more flexibility for your guests, while longer intervals (e.g. 30 mins) help space out service and reduce stress on staff. Adjust these settings seasonally or during special events to match your operations.
