Overview
The Referral-Based Loyalty Add-On can be layered onto any existing loyalty scheme. Once activated, customers are automatically issued a unique referral link that they can share with friends. When someone signs up through that link, both the referrer and the friend are rewarded.
You can customise:
- The number of points awarded for each referral
- Whether only the referrer, or both parties receive a reward
- Referral caps, limits, and timelines if needed

Step-by-Step Setup
Step 1: Open Your Loyalty Scheme
Log in to the Stampede dashboard and click into the Loyalty section. Choose the scheme you'd like to apply the referral feature to.

Step 2: Click “Update Scheme”
Click the Update Scheme button. This is where you’ll configure all your loyalty settings, including referral options.
Step 3: Enable Referral Mode
Scroll to the Referral Mode section:
- Toggle Referral Mode to “On”
- Enter the number of Referral Points to award (e.g. 10 points per referral)
- Decide whether points should go to just the referrer, or to both referrer and new sign-up (where supported)
Step 4: Configure Sign-Up Points (Optional)
Still within the Edit screen, you can choose to award Points for Signing Up to incentivise new customers. This works well when paired with referral rewards.
Example setup:
- Referrer earns 10 points
- New customer receives 10 points just for joining via the link
Step 5: Save Your Changes
Scroll down and click Update to save your changes. The referral feature will now be live and active for all new sign-ups.
Step 6: Customers Access Their Referral Link via the Loyalty Card
Customers can view their referral link by accessing their Loyalty Card. After signing up, they’ll receive an email prompting them to add the card to their Apple or Google Wallet.
Once the card is saved:
- Customers can tap the three dots (•••) icon on the card
- A pop-up will appear showing Pass Details
- From here, they’ll see their unique referral link ready to copy and share with friends
This makes it easy for customers to share your loyalty scheme whenever and wherever they like—no extra steps needed.
