In this article, you’ll learn how to use the built-in UTM Planner to apply pre-filled source, medium, and campaign values to your links speeding up link creation and helping you stay consistent across all campaigns.
UTM parameters help you track where traffic is coming from and which campaigns are driving results. Stampede’s UTM Planner now includes a handy library of presets to help you avoid messy tracking data and duplicated entries.
1. Navigate to the Link Manager
From the left-hand menu, click on Marketing.
Then, under Front of house / Website, select Forms.
2. Select Link Manager
From the sub-menu, click on Link Manager.
3. Click ‘Create Link’
Click the Create Link button in the top-right corner.
After entering your Original URL under the Link Details tab, click Next to access the UTM Parameters tab.
4. Use the UTM Planner Presets
In the UTM Parameters section, you’ll see five fields:
- UTM Source – e.g. facebook, google
- UTM Medium – e.g. email, banner, cpc
- UTM Campaign – e.g. winter-sale, booking-drive
- UTM Term – e.g. “steak-dinner-keyword” (used for paid search)
- UTM Content – e.g. “cta-button” or “header-image”
Each field gives you the option to:
- Select from library – Pick a preloaded value that follows naming best practices
- Enter custom – Add your own value if the campaign is unique
Once selected, the full URL with UTM parameters will appear at the bottom of the screen.
5. Complete the Link or Continue to QR Code
Once you’ve selected your presets, you can either:
- Click Next to enable a QR code, or
- Click Create Link to finish and generate your new link with UTM tracking included.
💡 Pro Tip:
Stick to standardised UTM naming (like utm_source=facebook
, utm_medium=email
)—this will make your reporting cleaner and help you identify what’s actually converting.
