Purpose: This article helps customers quickly identify whether they follow the Stampede Hardware Path or the IT Partner Path, and directs them to the right guides.
Which Wi-Fi Setup Path Applies to My Venue?
In this article, you’ll learn which setup process applies to your venue based on the type of hardware you’re using. Stampede supports two different setup paths depending on whether you received Stampede-supplied hardware or you’re using your own existing Wi-Fi equipment.
Choosing the correct path ensures a smooth setup and helps both Stampede Support and your IT team assist you more quickly.
Path A — You Received Stampede-Supplied Hardware
If Stampede shipped hardware to your venue as part of your onboarding, you are on the Stampede Hardware Setup Path.
What this means:
Stampede supports and configures the hardware we supplied
You benefit from a 6-month hardware warranty directly from the manufacturer
Stampede handles all Captive Portal configuration
Your IT team may still manage network-level items (e.g. internet stability, VLANs)

Path B — You Are Using Your Own Existing Hardware
If your venue already has Wi-Fi hardware installed (e.g. UniFi, MikroTik, TP-Link, Aruba, Ruckus), you are on the IT Partner Setup Path.
What this means:
Your IT provider completes the network and hardware configuration
Stampede supports everything after guests reach the Captive Portal
Stampede will guide your IT team and verify the connection from our side
You’ll need to choose the correct hardware setup guide
