This issue occurs when the Wi-Fi network redirects guests before they reach the Stampede Captive Portal. If your router or controller’s login page appears instead of the Stampede splash page, the network is intercepting the traffic first. This is always a network configuration problem, commonly caused by the captive portal being disabled, incorrect VLANs, DHCP failures, routing issues, or missing walled garden entries. Your IT provider must correct these settings so the network directs guests to the Stampede portal.
This happens when your Wi-Fi network intercepts traffic before it reaches the Stampede Captive Portal.
When your router or controller login page appears instead of the Stampede portal, it means the network is redirecting the guest before Stampede can.
This is always a network-side issue, and common causes include:
Captive portal function switched off
Incorrect VLAN (for example, a guest connecting through a staff network)
DHCP not assigning IP addresses
Misconfigured routing between WAN and LAN
Missing or incorrect walled garden entries
Your venue’s IT provider must update these settings.
Once the network is pointing correctly to Stampede, the splash page will load.
