In this article, you’ll learn how to add UTM parameters to any link in Stampede’s Link Manager—either by choosing from preset values or entering your own custom tracking labels.
UTM parameters allow you to track how users are landing on your site and which campaigns are performing best. They’re essential for understanding the true value of your marketing efforts.
1. Navigate to the Link Manager
From the left-hand menu, click on Marketing.
Then, under Front of house / Website, select Forms.
2. Select Link Manager
From the sub-menu, click on Link Manager.
3. Click ‘Create Link’ or Edit an Existing One
To apply UTM parameters, you can:
- Click Create Link to start a new one
- Or, click the Edit icon next to an existing link
4. Go to the UTM Parameters Tab
Once you’re in the link setup flow, click Next to move to the UTM Parameters section.
Here you’ll find five fields:
- UTM Source – Identifies the referring platform (e.g. facebook, google)
- UTM Medium – Identifies the type of marketing (e.g. email, cpc)
- UTM Campaign – Names the specific promotion (e.g. summer-sale)
- UTM Term – Tracks search keywords (optional)
- UTM Content – Identifies the specific element clicked (e.g. “cta-button”)
5. Choose from Library or Add Custom
Each UTM field offers two input methods:
- From library – Choose from your saved presets
- Custom – Type in a new value specific to the campaign
As you fill out the fields, the URL with UTM Parameters will automatically generate at the bottom.
6. Save the Link
After finalising your UTM setup, you can:
- Click Next to generate a QR code
- Or, click Create Link to complete and save
💡 Pro Tip:
Stick to a consistent UTM structure—for example, always use source=facebook
, medium=email
—to make filtering and reporting in your analytics tools much easier later on.
