In this article, you'll learn what each symbol on the Day Planner means.
These icons give you a quick overview of key booking details without needing to open the full booking. Whether it’s a guest note, an allergy warning, or a birthday flag, symbols are designed to help your team stay informed and act faster during service.
1. Go to Bookings
Head to Venues from the left-hand navigation bar, then select Bookings to open the dashboard.
(If you have only one venue, selecting Venues will take you straight to your Bookings.)
2. Open the Day Planner
From the top of the bookings screen, click on Day Planner to view your table layout and reservations for the day.
You’ll see small icons attached to bookings, as well as a summary of symbol types in the bar above the list view.
3. Booking Symbols and Their Meanings
The Little Man: This icon indicates that the booking requires accessibility, which could mean wheelchair access or a highchair/buggy for young children.
Clipboard: The clipboard represents an internal note added by a staff member, including details about the booking and a timestamp to help you keep track of any changes.
Envelope: The envelope indicates that the customer has replied to a booking email, which can be found in the inbox section of the Stampede product.
Red A: The red "A" symbol stands for allergens (and is bright red for safety), and you'll also see a large red banner at the top of the booking menu highlighting the customer's allergies.
Speech Marks: This indicates that a guest has left a note while creating or editing the booking, which can be viewed in the booking menu.
Yellow Star: The yellow star signifies that a customer made a booking through an email campaign sent using the Stampede marketing service. In the booking menu, you can see exactly which email they used to book, which can be helpful for ROI and data research.
Cake: The cake icon next to a booking indicates that it is the customer's birthday. This is useful to know, as you can give special attention to this table. This icon only appears when the keyword "Birthday" is mentioned in customer notes.
Pro Tip:
These symbols not only display next to bookings but also appear in the summary bar at the top of the Day Planner. Use them to get an instant overview of accessibility needs, campaigns, birthdays, and more making it easier to plan ahead during service.
