In this article, you'll learn how to navigate and use the Day Planner in Stampede Bookings.
The Day Planner gives you a real-time overview of your bookings, broken down by time slots, areas, and booking types. It helps your team manage service flow, table availability, and guest needs all from one place.
1. Go to Bookings
To set up special dates, you can go to Bookings to open the dashboard.
(If you have only one venue, selecting Venues will take you straight to your Bookings.)
1.5. Select Venue
If you have multiple venues, select the correct venue for which you are looking to make a booking.
2. Open the Day Planner
From the options, select the Day Planner tab to view bookings in a timeline format for the selected day. Use the Today button to jump back to the current date, or select another date using the calendar navigation.
3. Understand the Booking Summary
At the top of the Day Planner, you’ll see a breakdown of bookings by:
- View: You can switch between a timeline, List or a floorplan view
- Periods: Shows booking counts for the morning, afternoon, and evening
- Areas: Displays how many bookings are assigned to each seating area (e.g. Main, Bar, Terrace)
- Types: Displays bookings by type (e.g. Drinks, Lunch, Dinner)
- Booking Status: Shows active, seated and completed bookings on the left-hand menu.
This lets you assess availability at a glance.
4. Viewing and Managing a Booking
Click on any booking block to open its full details, including:
- Guest information (name, contact, visit count)
- Party size, time, and duration
- Booking type and table number
- Internal notes, guest notes, and symbols (e.g. birthday, allergies)
Quick actions let you:
- Edit the booking
- Change booking status (e.g. active, seated, check dropped, paid)
- Message Guest (Send an email to the customer)
- Leave a note on the booking
- Check the history of the booking (e.g. check if the customer booked online, amended the booking, or cancelled the booking)
6. Using the Booking Symbols
Symbols like pencil, clipboard, birthday cake, and red A appear next to bookings and in the summary bar. These represent:
- Updates to bookings
- Internal notes
- Allergies, guest notes, marketing sources, and more
- Special events
You can view a full explanation of these symbols in the Booking Symbols article.
